Let's look at the virus and how it acts on the body. There are normally three phases in HIV infection. In Phase 1, just after infection, the virus multiplies in the body very fast but the immune system manages to fight it off. In phase 2, the immune system still manages to keep the virus in check but the struggle's getting too much for it. In phase 3, our defenses are finally down the virus multiplies unchecked, causing other major infections. What does it feel like to go through each of these phases?
